Finger and nail fungus
Fingernail fungus is not uncommon like toenail fungus. There are more than 2 million people are infected with finger nail fungus each year in America alone.
The interesting fact here is that women are more susceptible to nail fungus when compared to men. Toenail fungus is part of whole nail fungus definition. Some say this is because women use nail polish. This is a much debatable issue as the nail polish in no way harm the fingernail directly.
There is a remote possibility [as per group of therapist] that the nail polish cut the oxygen supply to the fingernail thus affecting the health of the fingernail thereby paving way for fingernail fungus infection. Usually you can use same treatment for toenail fungus as for nail fungus

The etiology or the cause of the fingernail fungus is fungal organisms. These funguses are present everywhere. These fungal organisms enter in to the skin through cut or scratch. Once entered these fungal organisms reach the nail bed where they multiply and grow. At this stage the treatment becomes very difficult.
One has to be very careful while trimming the fingernail. The nail should not be cut too short. This may in the way damage the skin underneath thus allowing the fungus organism to enter and set up the infection.
Nail biting is a very bad habit that needs to be stopped at once. The nail biting will damage the protective layers of the nail, making it highly susceptible to fungal infection.
Fingernail fungus just loves the place that is moist and warm. Keep the finger dry to keep the fingernail fungus at a bay. Wash the hands frequently and clean it with dry towel immediately. Be careful not to damage your hand while working in the garden. It is advisable to wear hand gloves while at such activities.
Never touch the decaying vegetation and wet soil bare handed. Try to avoid common bathrooms, public swimming pools, gym etc.
